Curry bubbling on the stove
whilst the radio plays your favourite songs
You in your zone
The kitchen table the meeting place
Showing your love with food filled plates
No task was too big or too small
You always handled it all
Now this frail old lady
I barely recognise at all
A transparent shield separates us
No longer able to hug or touch
If i would of known the last time
I would be eating your food
I would of savoured it more and asked for seconds
If i would of known the last time i was allowed to hug you
I would of held you closer and cherished the scent of your perfume
If i could turn back the hands of time
You would feel no pain
And we could enjoy that time again.
